Her Turn is a sober house for women who are serious about their recovery — a peaceful, supportive home where women live independently, lead each other, and keep the house alcohol- and drug-free.
What is a peer-led sober house?
A peer-led sober house is for women who have already built a foundation in their recovery and are ready for more independence. There's no structured program, no phases, and no live-in house manager running your life. Instead, the women who live here share responsibility for keeping the home safe, sober, and running smoothly — supported by a rotating peer leadership structure.
It's a middle ground between structured sober living and living entirely on your own. You get the safety and community of a sober household, with the freedom and independence of living on your own.
Our home
A beautiful one-story ranch-style home — fully furnished, all utilities paid, fast internet, two large refrigerators, and a brand-new washer and dryer.
Outside: a swimming pool, covered patio, outdoor seating, fire pit, and a gourmet gas BBQ grill — with plenty of street parking in a safe neighborhood, almost directly on the 648 bus line.
How peer leadership works
Instead of a live-in house manager, three residents serve as rotating Structure Facilitators — peer leaders who keep the household running smoothly. These are service roles, not authority positions. They rotate among eligible residents, and the house votes on how often.
The three rotating roles
- Home Coordinator — coordinates chores, checks that shared spaces are maintained, teaches new residents how the household runs
- Recovery Support Coordinator — helps residents stay connected to meetings and sponsors, notices when someone is struggling, reports concerns privately
- House Meeting & Welcome Coordinator — facilitates the weekly house meeting, welcomes new residents, gives orientation
Structure Facilitators observe, support, teach, and report. They do not discipline, investigate, or make decisions for other residents. Debra — the owner — retains authority over admissions, drug testing, room searches, and serious incidents.

Who we're looking for
We're looking for women who are employed, responsible, clean, respectful, and looking for a comfortable place to call home. The women in the home are sober and enjoy a peaceful, alcohol- and drug-free lifestyle.
